Men's Relay Team Takes First at NCAA Meet

DURHAM, N.C. - The Baylor men's 4X400 meter relay team raced to a first place finish at the NCAA outdoor national championships late Saturday evening.
After a nearly two-hour delay due to severe weather, the relay team of Zsolt Szeglet, Peter Hauser, Floyd Thompson and Brandon Couts ran its best time of the season, 3:01.46, to win the national championship. The team has now captured both the indoor and outdoor titles in the 4X400 meter relay.
The win lifted the Baylor men's track team into a ninth-place finish with 24 team points.
On the women's side, the team of Ssereta Lafayette, Keisa Brown, Tamara Johnson, and Barbara Petrahn finished sixth in the 4X400 meter relay with a time of 3:35.24. As a team, the Baylor women finished 13th with 14 points.
