O'Bric Places Sixth in Heptathlon

DURHAM, N.C. - Baylor track and field athlete Kerry O'Bric earned a sixth-place finish in the heptathlon with a score of 5,464 at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field championships Thursday.
A senior from Huntington Beach, Calif., O'Bric overcame a series of injuries to compete in her first NCAA championship meet. Earlier in the season at the Big 12 Outdoor championships, she set the school mark for points in the heptathlon with 5,428. She bested that mark with her score of 5,464 Thursday.
O'Bric's teammates, Bayano Kamani and Michael Smith, will compete in the finals of the 400 meter hurdles Friday at 6:20 p.m.
