Missouri Runs Away From Baylor, 78-44

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Baylor Lady Bears dropped their second Big 12 game of the season, losing to Missouri, 78-44, in the Tigers' Hearnes Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Bears started off the game by missing their first six shots. Redshirt freshman forward Hilary Akromis finally got Baylor on the scoreboard with a jumper at the 16:28 mark. The Lady Bears pulled to within one four times but Missouri outscored Baylor 10-2 in the final four minutes of the half to lead 41-22 going into the lockerroom.
It didn't get any better for the Lady Bears in the second half as the Tigers outscored them 37-22 to cruise to victory. Missouri dominated the boards, outrebounding the Baylor squad 68-39, including 32 offensive rebounds. The Lady Bears shot their second lowest shooting percentage of the season at 27.9 percent while the Tigers shot 37.4 percent.
Akromis led the squad in both scoring and rebounding, recording the first double-double of her career with -- 13 points and 10 rebounds, both were career highs. Sophomore point guard Nicole Collins was the only other Baylor player scoring in double figures, she tallied 11. Collins added five assists and two steals in 40 minutes of play.
The loss dropped the Lady Bears to 5-7 on the season and 0-2 in the Big 12 while Missouri is now 11-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play. Baylor will travel to Manhattan, Kansas to play the Kansas State Wildcats on Wednesday, Jan. 12 at 7:00 p.m.
