The Lady Bears sporting a 13-3 overall record and 2-3 mark in the Big 12 will host Iowa State, currently 15-1 on the season and a perfect 5-0 in conference action. After winning their first 13 games of the season the Lady Bears have fallen upon hard times and lost three straight.
The game with Iowa State will be the Lady Bears' third ranked opponent in four games.
BEST START SINCE...
The Lady Bears have vaulted off to the best start in Lady Bear history. Twice, 1974-75 and 1980-81, Baylor posted 9-0 records to start the season. The Lady Bears have already surpassed their season win total of last season (7-20).
They also broke the school record for most consecutive wins with 13. The previous mark of 12 was set in the 1975-76 season.
ONLY BAYLOR...
In NCAA Division I statistics posted Jan. 15, Baylor is the only school to have two players ranked in the top 10 in scoring. In fact you have to go down to #19 before you get a duplicate. Only Western Kentucky (#10 &19) and Bucknell (#25 & 45) join Baylor in having two players among the top 50 in scoring.
Baylor's junior guard Sheila Lambert ranks #3 nationally at 24.7 while junior forward Danielle Crockrom ranks #10 with 21.5.
LAMBERT ON THE LOOSE...
Sheila Lambert is showing why she's a serious contender for Big 12 Player of the Year honors. The 5-7 junior guard is averaging 29.2 points 4.7 rebounds, 8.2 assists and 3.2 steals in Big 12 games. On the season she ranks #1 in the Big 12 in scoring at 24.7 points a game, which is #3 in the nation, and the speedster is among the league's top three in assists and steals.
Lambert has scored in double figures in every game this season and has produced four 30-point performances. She has four double-doubles to her credit, three with points/assists and one with points/rebounds.
CROCKROM CRANKING IT UP...
Junior post Danielle Crockrom put together the best performance of her career when she scored 41 points and grabbed 22 rebounds against Texas A&M. Crockrom's 41 points were the fourth highest in school history while her 22 boards ranks as the second highest behind her 23 rebound performance earlier this season against USC. Her 41 points beat out teammate Sheila Lambert's 37-point performance against Kansas as the most points scored in a game by a Big 12 player this season. She also owns the top two rebounding performances in the Big 12 this season.
Also the 41-point effort is the fourth best in NCAA Division I this season.
THE OPPOSITION...
Iowa State Cyclones (15-1, 5-0) The Iowa State Cyclones come into Wednesday's game with a record of 15-1 and 5-0 in the Big 12. The Cyclones only loss of the season came at #6 Duke, 81-63. They are tied with Texas Tech for the Big 12 lead, both teams are undefeated in league play.

He has produced three straight 20-win seasons with a 77-22 record over that span. The Cyclones advanced to the NCAA's Sweet Sixteen last season and to the Elite Eight in 1999.
SERIES RECORD...

LAST YEAR...
The two teams only meet once each year and Iowa State was victorious last season in Ames. The Cyclones triumphed 112-79. Angie Welle led all scorers with 28 points while Megan Taylor scored 22 and Erica Haugen added 11. LAST TIME OUT...
Despite a 41 point, 22 rebound performance by Baylor's Danielle Crockrom, the Lady Bears came up short at College Station Saturday afternoon losing to Texas A&M 87-81.
At the 12:51 mark of the first half the Lady Bears held a 20-17 lead but the Aggies held the Lady Bears scoreless for the next five minutes while reeling off 16 points of their own to take a 33-20 lead. Texas A&M would lead by as much as 13 but the Baylor squad fought back to pull to within two with 2:14 remaining. However, the Aggies outscored Baylor 9-1 in the final two minutes, including four points in the final seven seconds to take a 46-36 lead into the lockerroom.
In the second half the Aggies never relinquished the lead. Baylor closed the margin to three points on three occasions (13:11, 6:50 and 2:02) but turnovers at critical times led to the Lady Bears' demise.
Joining Crockrom in double figures for the Lady Bears was Sheila Lambert with 22 points. The junior guard posted her fourth double-double of the season with 22 points and a career-high 12 assists.
