Lady Bear Basketball Back in Poll

After defeating two Top 25 teams last week, the Baylor Lady Bears moved back in the the AP Top 25 rankings, checking in at No. 20 In addition, they are ranked in the Top 25 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll entering the poll at No. 22.
This week marks the first time the Baylor program has been ranked in both polls. They have been ranked in the AP Top 25 three times (Jan. 8, Jan. 15, Jan. 29) but this marks the first time they've been ranked by the coaches.
Last week the Lady Bears defeated #7 Iowa State (79-74) to record the program's first victory over a Top 10 team then followed that up with a victory over #17 Texas (73-51). The Lady Bears posted another first when they recorded back-to-back victories over ranked teams.

Jan. 15 - #25 tied
Jan. 29 - #20/22
Since the beginning of NCAA competition in women's basketball (1981-82), Baylor had never been ranked in the top 25, but had received votes during the 1997-98 campaign and at the beginning of the 1998-99 season.
