WACO, Texas - Redshirt freshman Janae Potter scored her first collegiate goal with under three minutes to go in the first extra-time period, heading in a pass from senior Alyson Miles to give the Baylor soccer team a 3-2 win over Oklahoma State Sunday afternoon at Betty Lou Mays Soccer Field.

"I was just at the right place at the right time," Potter said. The freshman midfielder was appearing in just her fifth game of the season after sitting out the 2000 season due to severe illness.

Potter's goal gave the Bears (5-6, 1-4 Big 12) their first Big 12 win of the season and snapped a four-game losing streak. Oklahoma State (7-6, 2-3) came into the game on a three-game winning streak before taking the loss.

After having been shutout two games running, freshman Ginny Rosario-Tull got the Baylor offense going again with a pair of goals. Her first score came in the 21st minute, freshman Lori Viggiano fed Tull, whose shot skimmed off an OSU defender's head and over Cowgirl goalie Kat Doud into the net.

Two minutes into the second half, Tull struck again. The freshman cut past a drawn-out Doud and beat one Cowgirl defender to tip the ball into the goal, giving the Bears a 2-0 lead.

OSU began their comeback six minutes later as the Baylor defense began to tire. The Cowgirls' Jolene Schweitzer knocked in her team-leading eighth goal of the year to cut the Bears' lead in half at the 53:40 mark, and Leah Carr tied the game 19 minutes later on a header off a corner kick by Nikki Wojtowicz.

The game was Baylor's third overtime match of the season and was the team's first overtime victory of the year. Thanks to an active offense, especially in the first half, the Bears set a season-high with 25 shots on the day.

"I think these kids deserved to have something good happen," Baylor head coach Nick Cowell said. "They've stuck together through a very trying time... It's a positive for this team to lose the lead and to come back. They could have folded, I'm excited that they didn't give up and came back to win."

Baylor continues its homestand Tuesday as the Bears host Oklahoma in a make-up game for Friday's rainout. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. at Betty Lou Mays Field. Following NCAA rules, the game will not be a continuation of Friday night's match, rather, the game will begin anew and no statistics from Friday will be counted.
