Waco, Texas - Doubles duo Reiner Neurohr and Markus Hornung, in their second tournament to be paired together, hope to come away with a second tournament championship. They have a chance to do just that on Monday, Oct. 29 when they will play for the doubles title in the 2001 Omni Hotels Region VI Championships at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth. Hornung and Neurohr won the Baylor Intercollegiates doubles championship earlier this fall.

After defeating the tournament's top seeded team of Jean Simon and Rodrigo Echagaray of Texas on Saturday, 8-5, Hornung, a freshman, and Neurohr, a sophomore, will play UT-Arlington's Davie Corrie and Andy Leber, seeded No. 4, Monday morning. Hornung and Neurohr are the tournament's sixth seed. Corrie and Leber defeated Baylor's Zoltan Papp and Nathan McGregor, 8-5, to advance to the tournament final.

In quarterfinal singles action, BU's lone remaining player Markus Hornung lost to No. 1 seed Jean Simon of Texas, 7-6, 6-4.
