WACO, Texas (AP) - Lawrence Roberts scored a career-high 26 points and Wendell Greenleaf added 23 to lead Baylor to a 99-66 victory over Centenary on Monday night.
Roberts made 8-of-14 field goals along with 9-of-11 free throws and pulled down nine rebounds for Baylor (7-1).
The Bears dominated from the start of the second half, opening with a 6-0 run and increasing their margin to 55-43.
Free throws provided a major difference with Baylor making 24-of-30 attempts. Centenary hit only 3-of-9.
DeAndre Cornelius led Centenary (4-4) in scoring with 22 points. Josh Thibodeaux contributed 11 and DeMario Hooper 10.
Baylor's Chad Elsey scored 13 points and John Lucas added 12 points.
Baylor shot 56 percent of its field goals for the game, connecting on 34-of-61 attempts.
Behind 6-2 in the game's first two minutes, Baylor erupted for a 14-0 run, going in front, 16-6. Wendell Greenleaf keyed the outburst with eight points, finishing the half with 19 points including all four of his 3-pointers.
Centenary answered with a 9-0 run, narrowing the gap to 16-15. The Gents never drew closer, however, and trailed at halftime, 49-43.
Both teams shot over 50 percent in the first half. The Bears connected on 15-of-28 shots for 54 percent, while Centenary hit 18-of-32 attempts for 56 percent.
