THE TEAMS...
The Lady Bears, 17-6 overall and 6-6 in Big 12 play, come into Saturday's game with two straight wins under their belt, defeating Texas A&M 80-55 in the Ferrell Center and beating Texas, 80-75, in Austin. It was Baylor's first victory in Austin since the 1975 season. It also marked a first-ever sweep of the Longhorns. The Lady Bears are 10-2 overall and 4-2 in conference play in the Ferrell Center, their only losses coming at the hands of Oklahoma (87-90) and Texas Tech (56-67).
Baylor is led by three players scoring in double figures. Sheila Lambert, a junior guard, leads the team with 22.7 a game, while right behind her is junior forward Danielle Crockrom's 21.2. Senior post Monica Arnold checks in at 10.8 a contest. Crockrom leads the Big 12 Conference in rebounding with 12.3 a game.
The Missouri Tigers are 16-7 on the season and 7-5 in Big 12 play. They have won three straight games (Kansas State, Kansas and Nebraska) and currently sit one game ahead of the Lady Bears in the conference race. Three Tigers manage double-digit scoring averages. Senior forward Amanda Lassiter averages a team leading 20.3 points, senior forward Marlena Williams scores 12.0 and Tracy Franklin, a senior guard, averages 10.1. Evan Unrau, a freshman forward, is the team's top rebounder with 7.4 a contest.
