Lambert and Crockrom Honored By Big 12 Coaches

In a vote of Big 12 head coaches, Baylor's Sheila Lambert was named Newcomer of the Year and Lambert joined teammate Danielle Crockrom on the All-Big 12 first team it was announced today by the conference office.
Oklahoma's head coach Sherri Coale was named Big 12 Coach of the Year and Sooner junior Stacey Dales was selected as Big 12 Player of the Year. Kansas State's Nicole Ohlde earned the nod as Freshman of the Year.
Lambert and Crockrom are Baylor's first, first-team honorees. The duo accounts for 56 percent of the Lady Bears' scoring this season. In addition, Baylor is the only team to place two players on the first team. Lambert helped the Lady Bears to a 9-7 sixth-place league finish and current 20-7 overall record. The 5-7 junior guard, a native of Seattle, Wash., leads the Big 12 and is fifth in the nation in scoring with 22.9 points a game. She ranks third in the conference in assists (6.19) and fourth in steals (3.04). Crockrom, a 6-2 forward from Houston, is third in the league in scoring (21.7) and first in rebounding (11.9). In adddition, Crockrom ranks fourth nationally in rebounding and tenth in scoring.
