Baylor Breaks Ground on Wolfe Track and Field Clubhouse

WACO, Texas - Baylor Athletic Department officials held a groundbreaking ceremony here Thursday, signifying the start of work on the Winston Wolfe Track and Field Complex located at the east end of the Hart/Patterson Track and Field Complex.
Legendary Baylor track and field head coach Clyde Hart was joined by his wife, Maxine, Baylor Director of Athletics Tom Stanton and Baylor Director of Development for West Texas Charlie Jones in welcoming Wolfe and Donna Ward for the ground breaking. Also taking part in the ceremony were other members of the Baylor track and field coaching staff: Danny Brabham, assistant head coach, Todd Harbour, assistant coach and cross country head coach, and Michael Ford, assistant coach.
The facility, which will be completed in time for the beginning of the 2002 outdoor season, will feature locker rooms for both the men's team and the women's team, a training room, an equipment room, a coaches' locker room and a spacious team meeting area. Total square footage of the Wolfe Clubhouse will be more than 2,000 square feet.
One of the finest facilities in the nation, the Hart/Patterson Track and Field Complex boasts a seating capacity of 5,000 and has hosted six conference championships. For more on the complex, including sketches of the new clubhouse, click here.
