Women's Hoops Ranked No. 23 in Preseason Poll

Waco, Texas - The Baylor University Lady Bears women's basketball team has been ranked preseason No. 23 by the Women's Basketball News Service it was announced on Monday. Baylor joins five other Big 12 schools in WBNS's preseason top 25: Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Iowa State, Colorado and Texas.

Last season first-year head coach Kim Mulkey-Robertson led the Lady Bears to a 21-9 record, a first-ever NCAA Tournament berth and finished the season ranked No. 23. Four of five starters return off that highly successful squad.

Seniors Sheila Lambert and Danielle Crockrom have been selected as preseason all-Americans. Lambert was named to the second team while Crockrom was a third team selection. As juniors Lambert, a 5-7 guard, and Crockrom, a 6-2 forward/post, averaged 22.1 and 21.2 points a game respectively. Lambert's points per game average ranked her eighth nationally while Crockrom was No. 14. In addition, Crockrom's 11.6 rebound a game ranked No. 5 nationally. Lambert led the Big 12 in scoring last season and Crockrom led the league in rebounding.
