Box Score

The Lady Bears held Arkansas-Pine Bluff scoreless for the final 13:05 of the first half to take a 45-9 advantage into the locker room at halftime. The lead extended to a 104-38 victory as Baylor scored more than 100 points for the second time in as many home games.

The nine first-half points by the Golden Lionettes set a record for the fewest first-half points by a Baylor opponent. The previous school record was 10 by Illinois-Chicago in 2001.

For the first time this season, six Lady Bears scored in double figures. Melanie Hamerly led the team with 16 points while Sophia Young added 15. Steffanie Blackmon (13), Jordan Davis (11), Jessika Stratton (10) and Stasha Richards (10) each reached double digits as well. Baylor had five athletes in double-figures against Princeton and Texas Southern.

Young posted her third double-double of the season, grabbing 10 rebounds to go along with her 15 points. The freshman forward also recorded a career-best five blocks leading the Lady Bears to 11 rejections on the night.

The Baylor offense was on fire shooting 60 percent from the floor in the first half (18-30). The Lady Bears ended with a shooting percentage of 57.6 (38-66), their highest since hitting 58.8 percent of their shots against Texas Southern. It was the third time this season they have shot more than 50 percent from the floor.

After a shooting slump from behind the arc in the past two games, Baylor got back on track hitting 8-of-10 3-point attempts.

Baylor dominated every aspect of the game, out-rebounding Arkansas-Pine Bluff 55 to 33. The Lady Bears collected 20 steals while only surrendering eight. Baylor also dominated in the post, outscoring Pine Bluff 52-2 in the paint.

The Lady Bears eclipsed the century mark for the 47th time in school history. They have never lost a contest in which they have scored 100 or more points.

Baylor remains at home, hosting Grambling at 2 p.m. on Sat., December 14 at the Ferrell Center.
