Baylor Baseball Second in Big 12 Coaches Preseason Poll

WACO, Texas - The Baylor baseball team was picked to finish second in the Big 12 Conference this season in a survey of the league's coaches released Monday.
Defending conference and national champ Texas was picked to repeat, followed by Baylor and Oklahoma. Nebraska and Texas Tech tied for fourth. Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Kansas State, Missouri and Kansas rounded out the league standings.
Baylor begins the season ranked 10th in the nation by Baseball America. The Longhorns and Huskers were also picked among the top 25 by each of the three major preseason polls already released (Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball, Sports Weekly/ESPN).
The Bears, who hold the best cumulative conference record in the Big 12 over the past five seasons, begin their 2003 schedule Feb. 4 at home against Southwest Texas before heading to Tucson for a three-game set against Arizona Feb. 7-9. The Bears then return to Texas for the third annual Astros College Classic, to be held at Minute Maid Park Feb. 14-16.
