WACO, Texas - New head coach Scott Drew and the Bears met with the media Tuesday afternoon during Baylor Men's Basketball Media Day. Baylor kicks off the 2003-2004 season with their exhibition opener at home Nov. 4 at 7 p.m., with the regular season starting Nov. 22 at 8 p.m. against Texas Southern.

On new walk-on Robbie McKenzie:
"Robbie is someone who has height, and that is something this team needed. He is a great kid and is a good representative of the Baylor student."
On the participation at Monday's walk-on tryouts:
"The turnout was great at tryouts yesterday. There were a lot of students, which was positive, as well as some people from the community. Within the next couple of days, we will finalize our roster."
Terrance Thomas:
On practicing again:
"We're anxious to practice again. We want to get the things in the past that happened behind us and start to focus on basketball."
Harvey Thomas:
On practicing again:
"It's good to get out there on the court again and focus on the reason I came here, which was to play basketball."
On the new coaching staff:
"The new coaching staff made some changes, and we're ready to get out there and play."
Matt Sayman:
On walk-on tryouts:
"It was great to see the students get out there and participate. It shows that there is enthusiasm for this program on campus."
On McKenzie:
"Robbie is a good player. He has a lot of height which is really going to help us out in the post."

"It's great to be out here and get our minds off the other stuff and back onto basketball."
On team unity:
"The summer really helped us out a lot in coming together as a team. It helped us to bond with each other and motivated us to get out there and practice as a team again."
