Cross Country "B" Team Competes in San Marcos

WACO, Texas - Baylor cross country head coach Todd Harbour took his "B" team to compete in the Texas State Classic in San Marcos on Saturday at Gary Job Corps.

Sophomore Jason Baker led the contingent of five male runners who finished in second place with 73 points. Baker covered the 5-mile course in 26:28 which placed him fifth. Mitch Sanders, a freshman, followed closely at 26:31 in sixth place. Junior Chirs Boley placed 13th at 27:20, Robert Harris, a sophomore, was 24th and Jorden Hamilton was 25th.

On the women's 3-mile course, the Baylor team took third place with 86 points. Brittany McGuire, a freshman, finished fourth at 17:58 to lead the Baylor contingent. Senior Kat Duncan placed eighth at 18:19, followed by junior April Hurst in 19th, junior Lindsey Price in 27th and sophomore Jenna Payne in 28th.

Next up for the Baylor runners will be the NCAA Pre-National Meet on Saturday, Oct. 18 in Waterloo, Iowa, site of the NCAA Championships.
