Head Coach Steve Smith says:
"Jared Clements has played very well at first base and is swinging the bat well. Redshirt freshman first baseman, Jason Thompson, has also gotten off to a hot start with the bat.
"Zach Dillon has done a good job behind the plate as has Matt Forestiere. Josh Ford is done catching for the remainder of the Fall due to a shoulder injury which prevents him from throwing. He may or may not continue to hit depending upon what the doctor recommends.
"Tyler Bullock, who is seeing time at first base, behind the plate, and on the mound, is also swinging the bat very well.
"Kyle Reynolds, Drew Sutton, and Paul Witt are all playing well at shortstop, and Michael Griffin is playing well at third.
"There is a lot of competition in the outfield with too many names to mention.
"On the mound, Andy Pape appears to be much stronger and has been outstanding. Abe Woody, Trey Taylor and Mark McCormick are also throwing very well. All of the new guys have been effective and I am looking forward to seeing them over the remainder of the Fall."
