WACO, Texas - Five Bears recorded double-digit scoring totals Wednesday night as Baylor defeated the World HoopStars 104-38 in the Bears' second and final exhibition game.
Sophomore Tommy Swanson led the Bears in scoring for the second game in a row with 20 points and added 10 rebounds. Senior R.T. Guinn also recorded a double-double, with 12 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
Seniors Terrance Thomas (17 points, nine rebounds) and Matt Sayman (16 points, seven rebounds) and junior Ellis Kidd Jr. (15 rebounds) as the Bears improved to 2-0 in their exhibition season.
Every Baylor player scored at least four points on the night. After taking a 48-22 lead into the half, the Bears put together an even more impressive second half, outscoring the HoopStars 56-16 while shooting 60 percent from the floor.
Steven Milosevic led the HoopStars with 14 points and 11 rebounds, his second double-double in four games against American universities. The World HoopStars, an all-star team from eastern Europe, fell to 0-4 with the loss after losing to American University, Coastal Carolina and East Carolina earlier this month.
Baylor begins the 2003-2004 regular season Nov. 22 against Texas Southern. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. at the Ferrell Center. The game is the second half of a basketball doubleheader as the Lady Bears play Nicholls State at 6 p.m.
