WACO, Texas - Fourth-year Baylor Lady Bear head coach Kim Mulkey-Robertson was presented with the Frank Fallon Sportsmanship Award on Wednesday at the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce's 8th Annual Basketball Tip-Off Luncheon at the Waco Convention Center.

The award is given annually to a person who has made a significant contribution to basketball in Waco. Fallon, a longtime Baylor broadcaster, public address announcer for the Final Four for many years and member of the Texas Sports Hall of Fame, was not able to attend the luncheon due to health reasons. The award, which caught Mulkey-Robertson completely by surprise, was presented by Fallon's son, Steve, director of the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.

"To think that my name could somehow be associated with Frank Fallon's is nothing but class," said an emotion-choked Mulkey-Robertson.

Van Chancellor, head coach of the WNBA's Houston Comets and coach of the 2004 U.S. Women's Olympic Team was the event's featured speaker. The sellout crowd was the largest in the luncheon's history.
