DENTON, Texas (AP) - Leonard Hopkins scored 19 points, including four 3-pointers, Tuesday night to lead North Texas to a 73-69 victory over Baylor.

North Texas (3-2) scored three unanswered 3-pointers at the start of the second half to take an 11-point lead. The Mean Green widened the lead to as much as 14 points before Baylor fought back to go ahead 52-50 on a layup by Terrance Thomas. A pair of free throws and a 3-pointer by Jerome Rogers gave North Texas the lead for good.

Baylor got as close as a point twice late in the game, but North Texas held on.

Will Smith scored 10 points and had a career-high 13 rebounds for North Texas. He also had two blocked shots.

Ron Harris had 13 points and Rogers added 12 for North Texas.

Thomas led Baylor 22 points. R.T. Guinn added 17 and Ellis Kidd Jr. had 15 for the Bears (3-3).
