Runners Compete In Houston

HOUSTON, Texas - Members of the Bears track and field team traveled to Houston on Saturday to gain competition experience at the Houston Indoor Classic.
Anna Kaczmarek ran a solid 5,000-meter race, taking second with a time of 18:22.56. Emily Bonilla finished eighth, recording a time of 19:00.30. Lindsey Price represented the Bears in the 800-meters, clocking a 2:21.84 to finish ninth. Two Bears also competed in the 400, with Lindsey Ramey finishing 14th (59.89) and Mary Pearce taking 17th (1:00.29).
For the men, Sam Bernal recorded a sixth place finish in the mile, clocking a time of 4:24.04. Korey Wright competed in the 800, finishing eighth with a time of 1:58.65. In the 400, Brandon Baker finished 23rd (52.29), followed by Mike Hollar in 24th (52.66).
A complete Baylor track and field squad will return to action next weekend when the Bears travel to Flagstaff, Ariz. for the Mountain T's Invitational on Feb. 8.
