Willmann Finishes 11th in Heptatholn at USA Championships

PALO ALTO, Calif. - The 2003 USA Track and Field Championships continued today at Stanford's Cobb Track and Angell Field. Jordan Willmann concluded the heptathlon with an 11th-place finish, totaling 5,327 points.
Willmann recorded a career-best javelin throw of 107-4. She also had a best long jump mark of 17-6 ?. She concluded the seven events by clocking a 2:14.36 in the 800. Her best event Thursday was the high jump where she placed fifth after clearing a height of 5-7 ?. She also ran times of 14.41 in the 100-meter high hurdles and 25.95 in the 200. She recorded a shot put distance of 38-1 ?.
Darold Williamson took fourth in the semifinals of the 400-meter dash with a time of 45.70. The 2002 World Junior Champion at that distance, he will compete in the USA Championships finals Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore Lakadron Ivery took 13th in the 100-meter dash with a semifinal time of 11.74. She advanced to the semifinals by running an 11.52 to place 14th in the preliminary rounds. Ivery will now focus on the 200, which starts with preliminary rounds on Saturday.
Jeremy Wariner and Angela Marvin will compete in the Junior division. Wariner begins competition on Saturday and Marvin runs on Sunday.
