Marvin And Wariner Earn Spots On Junior National Team

PALO ALTO, Calif. - The 2003 USA Track and Field Championships concluded today at Stanford's Cobb Track and Angell Field. The final day of the event was a successful one for Baylor athletes as both Angela Marvin and Jeremy Wariner earned places on the Junior National team.
Marvin won the 2,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 6:42.82. She beat her nearest competitor by nearly four seconds in the Junior division of the event. Wariner also competed in the Junior division. With a 400-meter dash time of 46.41, he finished second. Both athletes will travel to the Junior Pan American Games in Barbados in July.
In other Championships action today, Lakadron Ivery finished 10th in the 200-meter dash, clocking a 23.59 in the semifinals of the event.
