WACO, Texas - In the final non-conference game of the season, the Baylor women's basketball team reeled off a 100-47 win over Sam Houston State Friday night in the Ferrell Center.

Baylor (12-1) opens its 2004 Big 12 Conference schedule Wednesday as the Lady Bears host No. 13 Colorado at 7 p.m. Sam Houston, meanwhile, dropped to 0-11 in the non-conference portion of their season.

Senior Jessika Stratton led the Lady Bears in scoring with 16 points, two shy of her season high, and added seven assists, matching her best total of the year. Stratton was one of six Lady Bears to score double-digit points Friday, the third time the team has accomplished that this year.

Baylor is holding its opponents to 52.9 points a game this season, while averaging over 84 points a game on offense. The Lady Bears improved their regular season non-conference record to 46-2 under head coach Kim Mulkey-Robertson.

Baylor carried a 49-26 lead into halftime, then topped that with a 51-point second half. The team's 66.1 shooting percentage was their top total of the year, just shy of the team record of 67.2 set against Oklahoma in 1998. The Lady Bears also had a season-high 33 assists, matching the program record set against Texas Southern in 2002 and tied versus Texas A&M in 2003.

The 100-point total marked the 50th time the Lady Bears have reached triple digits in scoring all-time, though it was not the team's highest scoring game of the year; Baylor defeated Puerto Rico-Mayaguez 103-25 earlier this season.

Chameka Scott tied her career high with 12 points, and Chelsea Whitaker matched her career best with nine assists.
