WACO, Texas - Two Baylor men's basketball players have been ruled academically ineligible according to Michael Rogers, the school's faculty representative to the Big 12 Conference and the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
The ineligible Bears are senior forward Terrance Thomas and senior center R.T. Guinn. The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act does not allow the University to comment further on the student-athletes' academic status. However, Rogers said that this decision is not related to the school's internal investigation of its men's basketball program.
The 5-6 Bears return to action today when the nationally-ranked Purdue Boilermakers visit the Ferrell Center for a 2:30 p.m. contest that will be broadcast live by Fox Sports Southwest.
