WACO, Texas - Baylor men's basketball player Turner Phipps and assistant coach Stephen Brough visited Provident Heights Elementary School Monday. They spoke to sixty fifth graders about being successful and making good choices.

Brough told the kids there were four components to becoming successful. "First you must read a book, second tell your parents you love them, third do your push-ups, and fourth pray everyday."

He stressed that each of these components exercises a different part of your body.

"If you can communicate, you can be successful," said Brough.

Brough then told the kids that you must listen with your ears, eyes, and hands. He explained that in basketball you must listen with your hands so that you are always ready to catch the ball. To demonstrate, Brough threw the ball to students in the crowd while he was speaking, making sure they were listening.

Phipps, a sophomore, spoke to the kids about doing their homework and making good grades. "Do what you have to do, when you have to do it," said Turner.

He explained, that "by doing the little things you can build a foundation that will take you to the next level."

The children cheered for Brough and Phipps as they left.
