Lady Bears Cruise to Win Over TTT Riga

With the Lady Bears holding a one-point lead with 8:52 left in the first half, Baylor scored 20 of the final 26 point in the half to give Baylor a 36-21 cushion heading into halftime. The Baylor defense also played a key role in the spurt, as BU held TTT Riga to just 30.8 percent (8-26) from the field in the first twenty minutes while forcing 15 first half turnovers. TTT Riga was unable to close the gap in the second half as the Lady Bears out-scored the visitors from Young added two points in the second half to finish the night with 21 points to lead the Lady Bears. The junior went five-of-nine from the field while hitting 11 of 14 free throws. Two other Lady Bears ended the contest in double figures as Chameka Scott scored 12 points while Dace Krumina was the only player on TTT Riga in double figures as she finished the night with 20 points. The Baylor defense was strong throughout, forcing 31 turnovers as the Lady Bears held a 27-10 advantage on points off turnovers. Chelsea Whitaker led Baylor in assists, with six, while Young added seven rebounds to lead Baylor on the boards. Baylor will return to action on Sunday, Nov. 14, when the Lady Bears open up regular-season play at 12:30 p.m. against No. 3 LSU in
