Men Remain in Top 5 in Trackwire 25

WACO, Texas - During their off week before the conference meet, the Baylor men's track team held on to a tie for fifth, while the women dropped four spots into a tie for 18th in the latest Trackwire 25 released Tuesday.
Junior Darold Williamson (San Antonio, Texas) and sophomore indoor national champion Jeremy Wariner (Grand Prairie, Texas) are ranked 1-2, respectively, in the 400 meters in the Trackwire Dandy Dozen and also hold the two fastest quarter-mile times in the world.
The duo also leads the top-ranked and indoor national champion 4x400-meter relay team, which also includes freshman Mark Teter (San Antonio, Texas) and sophomore Jamen Saziru (Waco, Texas). The relay has been ranked No. 1 for 12 straight weeks, dating back to the indoor season. The 4x100-meter relay squad of freshman Braelon Davis (Dallas, Texas), Saziru, Wariner and Williamson is ranked 10th. Sophomore Wil Fitts (Desoto, Texas) is ranked 6th in the 800 meters.
The women are led by junior Lakadron Ivery (Tyler, Texas), who ranks fifth in the 100 meters, 10th in the 200 meters, ninth in the long jump and anchors the Bears' fifth-ranked 4x100 and 10th-ranked 4x400 relays. Junior April Holliness (Duncanville, Texas) ranks third in the long jump, but has the second-longest mark in the country. She also has the best marks in the Big 12 Conference and the Midwest Region and the eighth-best in the world.
