The Baylor football team completed its third week of spring practice with a two-hour and 30-minute full-pad workout Thursday afternoon. The Bears went through individual position work on the grass practice fields, then moved into Floyd Casey Stadium for their situational scrimmage.
"We've looked at a lot of people and a lot of different combinations on the field," said BU coach Guy Morriss. "I think we've had a pretty good spring. Up until this point, a couple of days have been a little sluggish, but overall the tempo has been good and they've worked hard.
"I thought today's scrimmage was pretty good," he added. "Paul Mosley ran the football well today, and I thought Terrance (Parks) moved around and made some good throws. C.J. Wilson, Montez Murphy and Khari Long looked good on the defensive side of the ball. We've got some guys who are making some plays and coming on strong, which you always like to see."
The Bears will practice three times next week in preparation for the April 17 Green and Gold Spring Game. Morriss said he'd like to see his team become more consistent on both sides of the ball in its final week of work.
"We need to become consistent in our execution, eliminate all of our mental mistakes and continue to look at different people in different combinations." Morriss said. "We've still got some stuff we can add so they'll have a taste of it next fall."
Baylor will return to practice next Tuesday. The Bears are scheduled to practice on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week, then conclude spring drills with the annual Green and Gold Game on April 17 at 1 p.m. in Floyd Casey Stadium.
As part of Fox Sports Net's Big 12 South Spring Football Tour, the Bears will be featured on the Tuesday, April 13 Southwest Sports Report at 10 p.m. John Rhadigan's report on the Baylor will include an update on the squad's spring practice, interviews with the players and coaches, and a look at academics on campus.
