WACO, Texas-The Baylor cross country teams return to action this weekend as the Bears will race in the Mean Green Opener hosted by the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. The meet opens with the men's race at 9:00 a.m. before the women run at 9:40 a.m.

"We had a great showing to open the season," head coach Todd Harbour said. "Hopefully, we will be able to duplicate last week's performance and have a good showing."

In the meet, the Bears will race against teams from SMU, TCU, Texas-Arlington and host school North Texas.

Baylor enters the meet after a dominant showing at the Bear Relays. The No. 25 women's cross country team swept the top three spots as Brittany Brockman teamed with Monique Ortega to capture the women's title at the meet.

The men faired just as well, as Baylor swept the top four spots. Cody Wells and Rob Morrow teamed to win the men's race as Mitch Sanders and Bo Price finished second.

Following the meet, Baylor will return to action on Sept. 25, when the Bears travel to St. Paul, Minn., to race in the Roy Griak Invitational.
