Coach Guy Morriss' 1-1 Baylor football team continued its preparations for Saturday's 6 p.m. game against 0-3 North Texas with a two-hour workout in half-pads on the Floyd Casey Stadium practice fields Wednesday afternoon.
"We've had two good days of practice back-to-back," said second-year Baylor coach Guy Morriss. "Lately, we've been ending practice with eight perfect plays and we reeled off eight of them again today, so I was happy to see that.
"For this bunch (North Texas), we are trying to stop the run," he added. "We work our basic schemes and try to polish them up (during the mid-week workouts)."
The Bears will hold a light practice on Thursday afternoon and walk-through on Friday in final preparation for Saturday's game against the Mean Green.
Practice Notes: Sophomore running back Brandon Whitaker (knee), redshirt freshman defensive back Jason Reaux (broken wrist) and freshman linebacker Ben Hixson (recovering from hip surgery last Friday) missed the workout, as did junior outside safety Maurice Linguist (ankle sprain) and senior running back Jonathan Golden (ankle sprain) ... Tickets for Baylor's Sept. 25 6 p.m. game against North Texas are on sale through the Baylor Athletic Ticket Office, over the phone at 1-800-Baylor-U or on the web at www.baylorbears.com ...
