Recap | Box Score | Notes

Head Coach Scott Drew
"This game showed that beating Purdue was not a fluke. We have improved so much. Although we do have challenges up against us like fouls and fatigue, we showed that we could come out and play a hard game. Oklahoma is a Top-25 team for a reason, so we have to give them credit; they were more physical and better on the boards."

On Aaron Bruce's last possession:
"We originally were going to give the ball to Tim. I am proud of Aaron that he drove for the lay-up. I give him credit for knowing to go for that shot. He did a great job on that last possession. As a coach, you never want to give up a lay-up opportunity."

Tommy Swanson
On the focus of the game:
"Our main focus was to keep up the intensity. We came in with confidence and we knew we could take on Oklahoma."

Aaron Bruce
On the last possession:
"On that last drive, I had the ball and made the split decision to go to the basket. It didn't work out though. I felt I had a good shot. We did think we had a chance at the end to win the game. I took the last lay-up hoping to pull it out, but couldn't."

On Drew Lavender's game: "He's a great defender; he's small and quick and he definitely gave me trouble. He worked hard this game. My teammates helped me out with him."

Kelvin Sampson, OU Head Coach
"I was worried about this game. Sometimes kids get to lulled into thinking that they are better than they are. I watched Baylor play against Texas and it was a five or six point game late into the second half. Let's give Baylor some props."

"If I'm Scott Drew I'm feeling pretty good about my team. I'm partial to those kids because I use to have that kind of team. Baylor is getting better and they're going to beat some teams in here this year."

On the play of Aaron Bruce: "I like the way they play. They got the great player at the one position you have to have to be successful. Aaron Bruce could play for me, I love him. Take the fact that he's 20 years old and he has all that international experience that makes him a good player."

Drew Lavender, OU Guard
"I think Baylor played very well tonight. Every time we thought we had them they would come back with a big play. We just had to keep coming back."

Kevin Bookout, OU Forward
"They brought it down a little bit more. They tried to limit our touches a little bit. When we throw the ball inside, it creates for Drew, Laurence and Jaison because the defense has to collapse. If they took it out of our hands, it creates opportunities for them."
