LINCOLN, Neb. - Men's tennis routed Nebraska 7-0 at the Woods Tennis Center in Lincoln Friday. It was the Big 12 opener for Baylor (1-0) who competed as a team for the first time this season.
Greg Shearer and Michal Kokta highlighted the doubles play in their match against Jerry Posch and James Clow in the No. 3 court. The Baylor tandem won the tiebreaker 9-7 giving the pair a 9-8 win.
At the No. 1 spot, senior Benjamin Becker defeated Nebraska junior Jerry Posch 6-4, 6-4. No. 11 Lars Poerschke followed suit defeating Adrian Szatmary 6-3, 6-1 in the No. 2 court.
Michal Kokta had perhaps his best match of the season against James Clow on the No. 4 court. After edging Clow 7-5 in the first set, Kokta handled Clow 6-3 to win the match.
The Bears travel to Colorado on Sunday; match time is set for 10 a.m.
