McCormick Named Preseason All-America

Baylor junior right-handed pitcher Mark McCormick was named first-team preseason All-America by Baseball America, announced by the publication Thursday. McCormick is one of six players from the Big 12 Conference on Baseball America's three preseason teams, including one of the Big 12's nation-best three first-team selections.
McCormick earns preseason All-America honors for the second consecutive season after being tabbed third-team by Baseball America in 2004. The
Before the injury, McCormick was 2-2 with a 2.38 ERA and 32 strikeouts against only 27 hits allowed in 34.0 innings. He finished the season 2-4 with a 4.70 ERA and 42 strikeouts against 41 hits allowed in 46.0 innings.
