BAYLOR SOCCER CLOSES OUT SEASON AT TEXAS A&M
WACO, Texas - The Baylor soccer team returns to action for the final time this weekend as the Bears (4-11-2, 2-6-1) travel to No. 11 Texas A&M (12-3-2, 6-2-1) to face the Aggies on Friday, Oct. 28, at 8:00 p.m.
"This match is extremely important to us because Texas A&M is playing for a conference championship," head coach George Van Linder said. "Our team will have to be playing at the top of its game in order to come away with a victory. Hopefully, we can play well and end the season on a strong note."
Baylor heads into the match with the Aggies after posting three points over this past weekend. The Bears defeated Texas Tech on senior night before fighting to a scoreless tie against Colorado.
Heading into the match with the Aggies, freshman Amanda McGrath leads the Bears with five goals on the season. Senior Tiffany Boshers leads the team with 13 points on the season as the forward will close out her career as one of Baylor's all time leaders in points, goals and assists.
Baylor will look to end the Aggies dreams of back-to-back Big 12 Conference titles as a win by Texas A&M would clinch the championship.
Last weekend, the Aggies picked up two wins over Colorado (2-1) and Texas Tech (7-0) to put them in first place in the Big 12 standings. Texas A&M is led by sophomore forward Melissa Garey, who continues to lead the conference in goals scored, adding her 13th, 14th and 15th goals of the season against CU and TTU.
Last season, Texas A&M picked up a 1-0 victory over the Bears as the Aggies lead the all-time series with Baylor 5-4-1.
