Baylor wraps up the 2005 season as the Bears host Texas Tech on Senior Night Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Ferrell Center. Each team will be looking to end the season on a positive note as the Bears have lost seven in a row, while the Red Raiders are on a nine-match skid.

Tonight marks the final match in the careers of five Bears: setter Emily Huston, defensive specialist Maggie Chlebana, middle blocker Stella Odion and outside hitters Kelly Spriggs and Melanie Hamerly.

The Bears are led by junior outside hitter Nicole LeBlanc, who ranks among the Big 12 leaders with 3.47 kills and 2.92 digs per game. Sophomore Kristen Schramek ranks eighth in the league with 3.39 digs per game, while junior middle blocker Desiree Guilliard-Young ranks second in the Big 12 with 1.86 blocks per game in conference matches only.

Texas Tech is led by Philister Sang, who ranks third in the Big 12 with 4.44 kills per game, and Desiree Batista, who ranks sixth in the conference with 3.87 digs per game.

Texas Tech leads the all-time series against Baylor, 45-10, but the series has been nearly even over the past seven years with the Red Raiders holding a 7-6 record. The Bears won this season's previous meeting, 3-1, in Lubbock in the conference opener Sept. 14.

The Bears will return in the spring with three official returning starters: LeBlanc, Guilliard-Young and Schramek, while sophomores Amanda Modglin and Heather Marcus and junior Deja Sweeney all started at different times during the season and played significant roles. Freshman walk-ons Krystle Everett and Amanda Elliott also return and Baylor will have back from injury senior Adeline Meira and freshmen Kelsey Smith and Jenné Blackburn.
