WACO, Texas - Baylor's No. 24 women's tennis team defeated the University of Texas-Arlington, Mavericks 7-0 Sunday at the Baylor Tennis Center.

After defeating No. 62 Florida International 7-0 on Friday, the Bears came out and did it again on Sunday breezing by UTA 7-0. The bears, now 6-2, have a 5 match winning streak and are 4-0 at home.

After rain postponed the match from its scheduled Saturday time, Baylor began play at 1 p.m. Sunday under sunny skies. The doubles point was quickly finished with all three Baylor teams posting wins.

In singles play, the Bears remained strong. Caroline Korsawe easily knocked off UTA's Jessica Shepard 6-0, 6-0 to start off the winning streak. Baylor's No. 57 Zuzana Zemenova took the first set from Monika Peciulionyte 6-1, before an injury forced UTA to default.

Baylor continued to win with Iva Mihaylova earning the match-winning fourth point by defeating Gretel Hach 6-0, 6-2. Klara Zrustova, Zuzana Krchnakova, and Daniela Covello also picked up wins against the Mavericks.

The Bears will return to action on the road Friday, March 3 in the first Big 12 match-up of the season at Nebraska.
