WACO, Texas - Top-ranked Baylor men's tennis took the doubles point, swept singles and beat No. 10 Stanford 7-0 at the Baylor Tennis Facility on Wednesday. The Bears improve to 17-0 on the season and have won 41 straight.

The Bears got on the board first by taking two of three doubles matches from the Cardinal. Benjamin Becker and Jon Reckewey won their match on the third court to take the first match. The No. 44 duo of Lars Poerschke and Michal Kokta faced an early 4-2 deficit, but were able to battle back to beat Phil Kao and Phil Sheng on the second court to clinch the doubles point.

The deep courts helped the Bears extend their lead as Matija Zgaga and No. 89 Vladimir Portnov brought in wins for Baylor on Nos. 5 & 6 courts respectively. Zgaga beat Eric McKean 6-2, 6-0 and is now 4-2 in the fifth spot. Portnov improves to 9-3 on the sixth court and is 12-6 overall this season.

No. 17 Poerschke sealed the win for Baylor as he defeated No. 91 Phil Sheng in straight sets. Poerschke and Sheng went to a tiebreaker in the first set, which the Baylor freshman won 7-0. However it was all Poerschke in the second set taking the match 7-6(0), 6-1.

In the most anticipated match of the night, No. 1 Dorsch defeated No. 2 Sam Warburg 7-5, 6-2. The last time Dorsch and Warburg met, then-ranked No. 28 Warburg upset No. 1 Dorsch by taking the match in a super tiebreaker.

On the second court, No. 49 Benjamin Becker knocked off No. 33 KC Corkery by winning the super tiebreaker. Becker started slowly by losing the first set 3-6. He was able to bounce back in the second set taking it 7-6(0). Becker won the match by taking the super tiebreaker 10-6.

Baylor returns to action Tuesday, Mar. 29, as the Bears host TCU. Match time is set for 6 p.m.
