Track Signs Another Sprinter

WACO, Texas - Baylor signed Courtney Thomas, the state runner-up in the 100 and 200 meters, to a national letter of intent, head coach Clyde Hart announced Monday.
Thomas, from Kilgore High School in Kilgore, Texas, ran personal best times of 10.49 in the 100 and 21.28 in the 200 to finish second in each event at the state track championships. He currently ranks seventh nationally in the 100 and 10th in the 200.
Also this week, track and football signee David Gettis ran the fastest high school time in the nation in the 400 meters, clocking a 46.08.
Thomas is the 14th addition to the Bears' 2005 recruiting class and the fifth sprinter on the men's side.
