Marcello to Serve as Consultant for NPF Champions

NEW YORK - Brandon Marcello, a speed consultant with the Baylor softball team, has been chosen to serve as a new performance enhancement consultant for the NY/NJ Juggernauts, the defending NPF world champions, head coach and general manager Julie Smith announced.
Marcello, regarded as one of the top softball strength and conditioning coaches in the US, has agreed to work with the pro fast pitch franchise team beginning immediately. Marcello, who also serves a consultant for adidas international and Nike, is currently in his second season as serving as speed coach for the Baylor softball team. Under his guidance, the Lady Bears set a new single-season Big 12 Conference record with 142 stolen bases last season. This season, the softball team has tied the mark and is currently tied with Texas A&M for the conference lead in the category.
Marcello will develop special strength, conditioning and speed programs for the NPF world championship team, and incorporate cutting edge training modalities into the Juggernauts yearly training calendar. Marcello, who is currently finishing his doctoral studies at Baylor, has worked with countless professional and elite athletes including Mia Hamm and NFL Quarterback Marc Bulger.
He is a prominent lecturer and author, whose work appears in a governing publication for the US Olympic Committee as well as numerous strength and conditioning textbooks.
Marcello and the Lady Bears will return to action on Thursday, May 12, against Nebraska or Missouri at 11:00 a.m. in Oklahoma City, Okla., for the Big 12 Conference Tournament.
