Wariner Blows Away Field at World Championships

HELSINKI, Finland - Former Baylor track athlete and Olympic gold medalist Jeremy Wariner ran a personal best 43.93 to capture the gold medal in the 400 meters at the IAAF World Track & Field Championships Friday at Olympic Stadium.
The time tops Wariner's best of 44.00 in the finals at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. Fellow American Andrew Rock finished second in 44.35.
Former Bear Darold Williamson finished seventh in the event, clocking a time of 45.12.
