Baylor opens the season on the road with a doubleheader against Northwestern State and Louisiana Tech Saturday at the Thomas Assembly Center in Ruston, La. The Bears face Northwestern State at 3 p.m. and Louisiana Tech at 7 p.m.

Baylor won the only other meeting with Northwestern State back in 1998 and hold an 8-2 all-time mark against Louisiana Tech. Head coach Jim Barnes is 11-0 all-time against Northwestern State and 3-1 against Louisiana Tech.

The Bears return 10 letterwinners, including seven starters, from last year's team which finished 12-19 overall and tied for ninth in the Big 12 Conference with a 4-16 mark.

The home opener for the Bears will be another doubleheader against North Texas and McNeese State Saturday, Sept. 3 in the Ferrell Center. Baylor will also play Texas State at home Wednesday Sept. 6, before hitting the road for seven straight, including the Big 12 Conference opener at Texas Tech Sept. 14.
