Baylor hosts Texas State in its final home match before a seven-match road swing Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Ferrell Center. The Bears enter the match on a four-match winning streak and have not dropped a game this season.
Texas State leads the all-time series against Baylor 20-5-1, but the Bears have won four of the last six meetings, including the last match 3-0 Oct. 22, 2001 at the Ferrell Center. The tie, which happened back on Oct. 4, 1980, is the only tie in Baylor volleyball history.
Baylor posted sweeps over North Texas and McNeese State Saturday as it hosted the Hilton Invitational. Texas State went 1-2 in their home tournament this past weekend, opening with a win over Morgan State before dropping decisions to California and Albany.
Senior middle blocker Stella Odion hit .700 with 16 kills in the Bears sweep of McNeese State in their last match and is hitting .337 for the season, leading the team with 4.08 kills per game and 0.92 blocks per game.
The Bears hit the road beginning with three in the Comcast Lady Vols Classic Friday and Saturday in Knoxville, Tenn. Baylor then opens Big 12 Conference play Sept. 14 at Texas Tech before heading straight to the Fiesta Bowl hosted by Northern Arizona Sept. 16-17 in Flagstaff, Ariz.
