WACO, Texas - Baylor volleyball signees Taylor Barnes, Anna Breyfogle and Katie Sanders were each named to Lonestarvolleyball.com's All-Texas teams Wednesday, ranking them among the top 24 players in the state. Barnes and Breyfogle were each named to the 12-member first team, while Sanders earned second-team honors.

The selection process for the elite group starts with a simple question: "If you were going to put together a squad to represent the Lone Star State against all-star teams from other parts of the country, who would you select?" This question is presented to college and club coaches, recruiters and close observers of the junior volleyball scene across the country. Lonestarvolleyball.com only contacts those who we feel have a good handle on the junior volleyball talent in Texas and see all of the top players in action.

Barnes (no relation to head coach Jim Barnes) is a 5-foot-11, left-handed setter from Martin High School in Arlington, Texas, who is ranked 55th overall and 13th at setter by prepvolleyball.com and was a finalist for the website's national player of the year award the past two years. She was also recently named Texas' Gatorade Player of the Year and a high school all-American. Barnes earned three straight Fort Worth Star-Telegram player of the year awards as a sophomore, junior and senior, was the Dallas Morning News player of the year as a senior and was named first-team all-area by both the Star-Telegram and the Morning News all three seasons. She was also named first team all-state by the Texas Girls' Coaches Association and lonestarvolleyball.com in 2003, 2004 and 2005. The three-time District 7-5A most valuable player led the Lady Warriors to a 38-7 record and a perfect 14-0 mark in district play en reroute to the state title, where she was named the championship game MVP. Barnes participated in at the USA National Camp in 2002 and 2003 and attended the USA High Performance Camp in 2001, 2002 and 2003.

Breyfogle, ranked among the top 250 seniors by prepvolleyball.com, is a 6-foot middle blocker/outside hitter from Hays High School in Buda, Texas. She led the Austin area with 171 blocks, averaged 4.5 kills per game and recorded 60 aces during the regular season. She led Buda all the way to the regional finals and earned high school all-American honors. During the summer, she helped lead her Austin Juniors club team to the Girls 18 Junior Volleyball Gold Division National Championship in Salt Lake City, Utah. Breyfogle, a first-team all-district and academic all-district selection, was named one of the top 10 players in Central Texas by the Austin American-Statesman.

Sanders, also ranked among the top 250 seniors, is a 6-foot-1 middle blocker/right-side hitter from Cinco Ranch High School in Katy, Texas. This year, she helped the Lady Cougars clinch the District 19-5A championship and was named to the Houston Chronicle's weekly honor roll. As a sophomore and junior, Sanders was a first-team all-district and TGCA all-state selection.
