Volleyball Falls to Texas A&M, 3-1

WACO, Texas - Baylor was sharp in breezing to a game one win, but Texas A&M quickly turned the tables and won the next three games for a 3-1 (20-30, 30-14, 30-21, 30-26) victory in Big 12 volleyball action Wednesday night at the Ferrell Center.

Freshman middle blocker Anna Breyfogle (Buda, Texas) led Baylor (13-7, 2-6 Big 12) with 13 kills, while freshman outside hitter Katie Sanders (Katy, Texas) added 10 kills. Senior middle blocker Adeline Meira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) had seven blocks, while senior middle blocker Desiree Guilliard-Young (Berkeley, Calif.) had six. Senior outside hitter Nicole LeBlanc (Tampa, Fla.) led the Bears with 13 digs, while sophomore defensive specialist Amanda Renz (The Woodlands, Texas) had 10.

Christi Hahn led Texas A&M (9-7, 2-6) with 18 digs and eight blocks, while Mary Batis had 16 kills and 21 digs. Lindsey Yon also had a double-double with 15 kills and 15 digs. Zanny Castillo added 18 digs.

The Aggies were more efficient on offense, outhitting the Bears, .248-.145. Texas A&M outdug Baylor, 80-53, and outblocked them, 13.0-9.0.

The Bears hit the road to face Kansas Saturday at 7 p.m. at Horejsi Family Athletic Center in Lawrence, Kan.
