Tennis' Poerschke Advances in USTA Event

MANSFIELD, Texas - Junior Lars Poerschke won his first round match in the 32-player main draw of the United States Tennis Association's (USTA) Mansfield Futures Tournament at the Walnut Creek Country Club in Mansfield, Texas, on Wednesday.
Poerschke defeated Ikaika Jobe (USA), a wild card entrant, 6-3, 6-4. Jobe had advanced to the main draw through the qualifying bracket. Poerschke will now take on the tournament's No. 6 seed, Tim Smyczek (USA) who moved to the second round with a 7-6(2), 7-5 win over Jason Marshall.
