When did you start playing your sport?
I started running in the seventh grade.
Who has had the greatest impact on your career?
Probably my high school coach, he was a really uplifting guy and taught me everything that I know.
What is the best part of being a college athlete?
The camaraderie on the team.
Favorite sport other than your own?
Baseball
What is your nickname on the team?
"The Champ"
After meeting Coach Harbour, what was you first thought?
He was a really awesome guy, a really strong Christian, and he let everyone know that right off the bat without trying to really mess around with anyone.
Do you have a pre-game ritual, if so what is it?
We eat pasta every night before a meet.
What is the most unique item in your locker?
Vaseline.
What is the funniest moment from Baylor practice?
One of the guys on the team was running and another guy tackled him to the ground.
Who are your favorite sports heroes?
Chris Bolley, he was a runner and he really did a lot for the sport.
What is the biggest challenge you have had to overcome?
I don't have very much speed, so I decided that I would just have to run a whole bunch of miles in order to stay competitive.
What opposing schools do you most look forward to competing against ?
Texas A&M. They beat us last year and we're looking for another shot at them.
What is one thing Coach Harbour always tells you?
He tells us to rely on God during the race.
What is your favorite team road trip?
The Griak trip. We go to Minnesota and we go to the Mall of America. It's a lot of fun.
Who is your biggest fan?
My mom. She comes to every race she can. She supports me and coaches me.
Why did you choose to attend Baylor?
A great Christian atmosphere. All the guys are of great quality, half of them live together. The coaching staff also.
What's the most important thing you've learned as a Baylor athlete?
I've learned a lot about taking a back seat, you can't always be number one.
What single thing will you most miss about Baylor when you leave?
Probably my teammates.
Who is your all-time favorite Baylor athlete?
Matt Chance, he's an older guy who holds the record in the 10k.
What is one thing you would change about Baylor?
I'd bump down the price a little bit, that's for sure.
As a role model to young athletes, what advice can you give?
Don't ever give up. Everyone goes through slow times, and if you're determined you can get through it.
What are three words that describe you?
Hairy, Funny, and Slow.
What song is stuck in your head right now?
Family Traditions by Hank Williams Jr.
What is your favorite T.V. show?
The Sopranos
Name one thing you can't go a week without.
A shower.
What is your dream job?
Salesman for Nike.
What's your most valued possession?
My truck.
Best non-athletic talent?
Making other people laugh.
Favorite musical artist?
David Allen Coe
Biggest superstition?
Every time it is 4:44 or 3:33, something like that, I always make a wish.
Biggest fear?
Being single the rest of my life.
Biggest pet-peeve?
People who don't use their blinkers.
Least favorite food?
Tomatoes, I hate tomatoes.
Worst movie you've seen?
The Lord of the Rings, I hate those movies.
Best opposing Big 12 fans?
The University of Texas.
