- Baylor trailed at halftime for just the third time this season. Maryland led at halftime for the 29th time this season.
- Maryland So. F Crystal Langhorne sank two free throws with 8:07 remaining in the contest to set a team single-season record for free throws made (147).
- Teammate Shay Doron (Jr, G) held the previous record (145, 2004-05) season.
- The loss snapped Baylor's eight-game NCAA Tournament win streak, dating back to 2005. The Bears are now 11-4 all-time in NCAA Tournament play.
- Crystal Langhorne's 34 points tied a career high. It was her fourth 30-point game of the season and the fifth of her career, a new team record. She also grabbed 15 rebounds to register her 14th double-double of the season and the 32nd of her career. Langhorne scored 30 points on 11-for-16 shooting from the field against St. John's and 34 points on 14-for-18 shooting tonight.
- Baylor Sr. F Sophia Young finished her career with Big 12 records for points (2,480), rebounds (1,360) and double-doubles (61).
- Young scored in double figures for the 130th time in her career and the 79th consecutive contest. She shares the NCAA record for career double-figure scoring games with LSU's Seimone Augustus.
- Maryland has outrebounded its opponents 30 times in the previous 34 games.
- Maryland advanced to the regional final for the first time in coach Brenda Frese's four-year tenure.
- Sophia Young scored 20 or more points for the 21st time this year and the 50th time in her four-year career.
- Baylor finished the season with a 26-7 record, the team's third straight season reaching that plateau. Five of the Bears' losses came at the hands of nationally ranked teams.
- Baylor lost for the first time this season when making at least five 3-point field goals in a game.
- Maryland F Marissa Coleman has scored in double figures in five of the last six games.
- Baylor's Angela Tisdale had seven points and two assists on her 21st birthday. Her 175 assists this season rank third in team history.
