WACO, Texas - Baylor's Western equestrian team sent eight riders to College Station, Texas, today to compete in Texas A&M's Western IHSA show this weekend. Both Reining and Horsemanship events will be held on Saturday and Sunday. The tournament will be Baylor's last before traveling to New Mexico for the Varsity Championships in April.
Competing in the Reining portion of the tournament will be Ashleigh Brown, Amanda Esco, Brenna Burris, and Kendra Kemp while Brown, Burris and Kemp will also ride in the Open field. In the Advance events, Stephanie Thompson will be the only Bear to participate. Finally, Nicole McCoy, Kim Crook, and Kim Marlowe will ride in the Novice field. Baylor's entries for Saturday and Sunday's participation are the same.
The Bears' last Western IHSA show was hosted by Oklahoma State in November where McCoy placed first in her Novice class and Kemp placed first in her Reining class.
