Track's Past, Present, Future Compete at U.S. Championships

INDIANAPOLIS - Former Baylor runner Darold Williamson ran the fastest qualifying time of 45.05 in the 400 meters, while current star Reggie Witherspoon finished 22nd with a time of 46.24 as the United States Track & Field Championships and Junior Championships began Thursday at Michael A. Carroll Track & Soccer Stadium.
Recent graduate Wil Fitts finished one place out of moving on to the quarterfinals of the 800 meters, coming in 17th with a time of 1:48.44.
In the Junior Championships, incoming freshman Trey Harts finished 11th in the 100 meters with a time of 10.29.
On Friday, incoming freshman LeJerald Betters will run in the 200 and 400 meters, while current Bear Quentin Iglehart-Summers and incoming freshman J.T. Scheuerman will compete in the 400 meters as well. Sophomore-to-be Erin Bedell will run in the 1,500 meters. In the senior championships, Jeremy Wariner will run in the 200 meters, Chris Gillis will compete in the long jump, Lakadron Ivery will compete in the 100 meters.
